Who is responsible?
Breedlas is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. For privacy requests, contact info@breedlas.com.
Hosting and security
Cloudflare delivers and protects this website. Connection data includes your IP address, requested URL, browser headers and request time. We use this processing to deliver pages, prevent abuse and keep the service secure, based on our legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The application does not maintain its own visitor access log. Cloudflare may retain delivery and security records under its service-specific terms.
Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, only after you accept analytics. It helps us understand which public pages people visit and improve the directory. Google processes cookie identifiers, page and usage events, browser and device information, approximate location and connection data. Consent is the legal basis (GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and applicable cookie rules). Rejecting analytics does not limit any feature.
Our tag disables Google Signals and advertising personalization. It sends the public page path without search parameters or fragments and reduces the referring URL to its origin. We do not add quiz answers, saved breeds, checklist choices, email messages or contact details to Analytics. Analytics is not loaded on the quiz, personal results, favourites, interactive comparison or checklist pages.
Your cookie choice
No Google script, analytics cookie or consent ping is sent before you accept analytics. Reject and Accept are offered together, and analytics starts switched off in settings. Closing the banner without accepting records a rejection.
The necessary local-storage entry breedlas:consent:v1 records your analytics choice, notice version and timestamps for six months. It has no visitor identifier and is used to respect your choice, rather than measure visits. Accept and reject choices last equally long. If storage is blocked, the choice lasts only for the current page.
Analytics cookies and withdrawal
After acceptance, Google may set _ga and _ga_FE93FC3F77 cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. Our tag limits their lifetime to the remainder of the six-month consent period and does not extend it on each visit. Your browser may remove them sooner.
Open Cookie settings in any footer or on this page to change your choice. Turning analytics off stops collection, removes Analytics cookies on this site and reloads the page to discard the loaded tag. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing or automatically delete data already received by Google. Consent is requested again after six months or when this notice version changes.
Quiz, favourites and checklist
Quiz answers use breedlas:quiz:v1 in session storage and normally disappear when the tab’s browsing session ends. Favourites use breedlas:favourites:v1 and checklist choices use breedlas:checklist:v1 in local storage, remaining until you clear them or your browser removes them. These functions run on your device without an account. We do not receive their saved values. Browser storage is used when you request these features; it is not used to track you across websites.
Directory searches, filters and comparison selections can appear in the URL fragment after #. A fragment is not sent as part of the HTTP page request, but it can remain in browser history or in a link you share. Our Analytics configuration omits it. Clearing site data removes stored choices; private browsing or blocked storage may prevent them from persisting.
Retention
The Google Analytics property uses a fourteen-month retention setting for user-level and event-level data. New activity can restart the retention period for user identifiers, depending on the property setting. Aggregated reports may be retained longer. The six-month cookie-choice period is separate from Google’s server-side retention. Contact us if you want to request deletion of data associated with a previous visit.
We keep contact correspondence only as long as needed to answer and resolve your request, unless a legal duty requires longer retention. Hosting and security data follow Cloudflare’s applicable retention terms. You can remove device-local quiz, favourites, checklist and consent entries by clearing site data.
Email enquiries
If you email info@breedlas.com, your provider and Cloudflare Email Routing deliver the message to the operator’s inbox. We use your address, message and any relevant page reference to answer and handle the request, based on legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) or steps necessary for a requested service where applicable (Article 6(1)(b)). Please do not send medical records, identity documents or other unnecessary sensitive information. Emailing is optional.
Recipients and international transfers
Cloudflare and Google receive data for the purposes described above under their applicable service and data-processing terms. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Their published transfer safeguards include the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable and Standard Contractual Clauses. Provider notices linked below explain their entities, safeguards and how to obtain more information. We do not sell personal data.
Your data protection rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact info@breedlas.com to exercise these rights. You may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly in the country where you live or work. We do not use your personal data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
The breed quiz runs locally and provides editorial suggestions from deterministic rules. It does not assess a particular animal or make a decision about you with legal or similarly significant effects.
External links and advertising
Photos, fonts and icons are served from this website. Following an external source or retailer link takes you to another website, whose privacy practices then apply. Advertising and affiliate modules are not active. Any later introduction of additional tracking will require updated information and appropriate controls before it starts.
